The Administrator and Moderators of this website/forum have the right to remove or edit any post that is considered inappropriate, a form of spam, contentious or combative and may close a thread at the sole discretion of administration. If you have a problem with that, you are probably not a good fit for The MaM website/forum. All posts are the property of The MaM Forum/Website.

It is every member’s responsibility to read and make themselves familiar with this website/forum’s rules. Don’t come to admin or the mods and say “I can do that on THIS OTHER board.” This is NOT that board. As in real life, ignorance of the rules are no excuse.

Don’t be an asshole. This case brings out the fighter in those that are interested in it, no matter which side you’re on. Try to interact with your fellow board members in a respectful manner. Profanity is expected and allowed; for those that have an issue with profanity close yourself out of that thread. Easy peasy. This is the real world.

Criticism of The MaM Forum/Website or harassment of the staff, WHILE ON THE BOARD, will not be tolerated UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. If you have an issue with the board, it’s Moderators or the Administration, contact admin

In the immortal (paraphrased) words of Dalton: “All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected. Two, take it private or off-board. Never start anything on the board unless it’s absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.”

“If somebody gets in your face and calls you a cocksucker, I want you to be nice. Ask him to go away. Be nice. If he won’t go away, ignore him. But be nice. If you can’t ignore him, one of the mods will help you, and you’ll both be nice. I want you to remember that this is nothing personal. I want you to be nice until it’s time to not be nice.”

Then, when it’s time NOT to be nice, Admin will take over and it will no longer be your problem.

You may not have multiple accounts/usernames. You may not attempt to circumvent a ban from The MaM Forum/Website by registering a new account. You may not use another’s account or otherwise impersonate another member. Ve have ways of making you observe and follow the rules. Don’t test us.

Victim bashing will not be tolerated on The MaM Forum/Website. Use your head in these circumstances, commenting that the victim’s behavior may have put her in harm’s way is NOT calling the victim a WHORE. This rule extends to family of both sides.

The MaM Forum/Website will not tolerate rumor mongering. If you claim something as “fact”, you must prove it. Be able to provide links to information from APPROVED third party sources; for instance, mainstream media, law enforcement and/or admin-verified case insiders. A bunch of opinionated statements slapped together on an obviously biased website will NOT be considered an approved source.

Per United States copyright rule no more than approximately 10% of the material quoted from an outside source may be posted. Always include a link to the source.

Persons presenting themselves as experts or professionals in their field, or as case insiders, must be verified as such by Admin.

Contacting any case player, past or present is PROHIBITED. Friends and family of either side are strictly OFF LIMITS. If you reach out to case players and then post about it on the website/forum, you WILL BE BANNED. Harassment brings serious consequences. DON’T DO IT. End of story, no bullshit. If case players contact YOU, refer them to Admin, where they will be properly vetted.

If you believe that you have information crucial to the case, report it to Kathleen Zellner. At this point, she is the ONLY person that can be trusted. DO NOT post your tips on The MaM Forum/Website.

Do not link to board member’s social media without their permission. Do not link ANY social media unless it is in the public domain. You may link to official social media of mainstream media and law enforcement agencies. Not sure? Ask a mod.

Do use the alert feature (red triangle at bottom left of each post) if you think someone is posting outside the rules. Do not quote or respond to it. Moderators review all alerted posts.

Private messaging (PM) is just that – private. PMs are not to be referenced on the public threads..

Do not post your personal information such as your address, place of employment, telephone number, etc. In other words don’t doxx yourself on the board. What you do privately is your own business.

The MaM Forum/Website is not responsible for any actions or events arising out of your personal decision to contact or arrange to meet another member in person outside of the website/forum. Do so at your own risk.

The MaM Forum/Website does not allow fundraising or solicitation of money of any kind unless first approved by management

The rules are fluid guidelines, meant to provide continuity and order. There may a time when the rules have to be amended, modified or added to. Exceptions may occur at the sole discretion of administration on a case by case basis. Each case is unique and things are rarely black or white, administration determines the gray area on a case by case basis. It is every member’s responsibility to read and make themselves familiar with this website/forum’s rules.
